These are (some of) my siblings, dressed in the Star Wars costumes I made for them this halloween. Ethan (17) is Darth Maul, Brenna (13) and Brycen (6) are Jedi warriors, and Braelynn (10) is Princess Leia. I kind of think that if there was a such thing as “Best Older Sister of the Year” award, I would totally deserve it for coming up with these. I’m happy they turned out so great and that the kidz like them so much.

Brycen, I’m told, slept in his Jedi cloak several nights in a row. Isn’t he super adorable? I love that kid a lot.

The baby did NOT like seeing Ethan with all of the face paint on. It WAS pretty creepy, so I don’t blame him. Some of my faithful readers will recognize Ethan’s black cloak. It is left over from several years ago when 9 of us dressed as ringwraiths to attend the premiere of the Two Towers. Black cloaks are such a great thing to have around. (”What I wouldn’t give for a holocaust cloak right about now!” –anybody to get this reference gets 1000 nerd points.)

Braelynn made an adorable Princess Leia.

Brenna “I’m a Tomboy” the Jedi.

We got together with some friends (who live in a suburb where you don’t have to walk 1/2 mile between houses like you would in farmland) to do the trick-or-treat thing. Here’s Brycen with his storm trooper friends Seth and Noah of Vedra Family fame.

Little Dude.

After I returned from trick-or-treating with the little folk and the moms, I headed out to spend the evening with Tabitha, Alex, Jay, and Karen. We had a Mystery Science Theater 3000 party at Karen’s house, which was definitely fun times. “The Teenage Strangler” and “Attack of the Huge Gila Monster” made for a great (although not-so-scary) Halloween movie night.

My Pumpkin

We had a family pumpkin carving party on Monday night. I should find the photo of all 9 pumpkins lit up, but for now, here’s a closeup of mine.

Also, it’s Christmas downtown now. I like this.

{have your say}

    Oh, my goodness. You’re so crazy creative in all these awesome ways. I love it. Those costumes? BEST EVER THEMED FAMILY COSTUMES. I have never seen better. And they all looked incredible. The group shot especially is just perfect…love the facial expressions all around. And your pumpkin is great also. And the fact that there are people who might not know the holocaust reference is kind of sad to me. I totally need to watch that movie again.

    Brittany. You are amazing. Great work all around this Halloween, post included. I am totally fangirling over you right now. ;)

    WOW! Seeing the pictures of the group really makes me sad I missed this year. I got called into work! so Will went around with my neighbor, then came home to daddy.
    YOU! really out did yourself girl. I hope you had equally as fun a costume. We should never out grow the who dress-up thing. I know. I am coming to this belief rather late…but better late than never!

    Don’t worry, Mar. It wasn’t the whole group, anyway because SOME PEOPLE felt that the almighty sport of football was more important, and so they felt it necessary to skip the traditional gathering.
