I love you and think of you and miss you every day.
Death is so inconvenient.
[Today would have been his 86th.]

This is Elvira. She’s the puppy we took home from the breeder 3 weeks ago, when we were “just looking”.
Nobody ever “just looks” when it comes to puppies. You’d have to have a heart of stone and superhuman willpower to do that.
Her name isn’t actually Elvira. It’s Arwen. Or maybe Eve. Or Maggie. Possibly Zelda.
What I mean to say is, my family has issues when it comes to agreeing on dog names.
From her green eyes to her white-tipped tail she is pretty much the most adorable little thing ever.
Here’s Big Dawg. He likes to play with little dawg and so far has been very good about being gentle with her.
I mostly call him Doofus these days because it suits him better than Preston. He’s sure not the most intelligent dog I’ve ever met but he’s pretty loving. And he’s funny, when he’s not getting into the trash.
Rawr.
Here’s the ever-gorgeous Foreverastarr XLA.
So graceful.
And dignified.
(Usually.)
She’s a hottie.
But she’s kind of bashful about it. “No, please. Stop. You’re too kind.”
And my sweet, sweet Jezebelle. She is just the sweetest horse I’ve ever seen.
Well, except for when she’s not. Then she’s a stubborn little witch. But she’s my little witch.
And here’s the little boy. He’s going to start earning his keep and doing big-horse things soon, like riding. Maybe driving? He’d be a darling little cart pony. But first I need to make the time to teach him how to do stuffs.
Running the farm and keeping the mares in show-shape doesn’t leave me a lot of time to work with him. But somehow, I don’t think he minds all that much.
We’ll get there eventually.
