Tonight I went to the Acton Annual Dinner at the Amway Grand Plaza hotel. This ^ is a picture of me with my BFF Tabitha.

At the dinner we ate fabulous food, schmoozed, and listened to some inspiring speeches. It was a very swank affair. Acton is good at those.

My favorite part of the evening was that Jonathan (formerly my partner in website-related cri–I mean, stuff) and his wife showed up. It was great to see them again.

Thing #8 (or, on my list, #73)

wow

#8: I really, really want to ride on a hunt someday. With hounds and horns and careening through the forest and jumping over fallen logs and such.

Seven Things

My friend Suzanne tagged me on a blog challenge last week. Rules: Write 7 little-known facts about yourself and then tag 7 other people to do the same. The thing is, I feel that whatever I want people to know about me is already pretty widely known, and the things that are little-known, I’d rather not talk about. Or I just can’t think of. So instead, I’m going to share 7 things from my list of things I’d like to do in life. (There are 72 things on my list, but seeing as the challenge only calls for 7, that’s what you get.)

1. Become proficient at using UNIX operating systems.

2. Compete in an AAOTR (adult amateur-owner to ride) class at US Arabian Nationals. I don’t even want to win. Well, I do want to win. But just getting there would be enough.

3. Read the entire body of Seneca’s philosophical works in Latin.

4. Learn to play the mandolin.

5. Take a year’s worth of violin lessons from someone really, really good.

6. Get one of my websites featured on a CSS Design site like CSSBeauty.com or CSSAddict.com

7. See the Classical World.

I tag:Lisa, Stephenie, Michele, Abby, Loretta, Falon, & Eric. (Either version of the challenge–the original, or my altered version–is acceptable.)

I’ll write stuff later. In the meantime, here are photos I took of Max last night. The fall foliage is quite stunning with his chestnut coat.

Pretty Headshot 1
What a face.

What a hottie.
He’s such a hottie. I love that bum.

Max Trotting
In the industry, we refer to this as a “floaty” trot. There’s a split second of suspension, by which I mean, if you look closely, he has no feet on the ground. And those high whites on his legs are so flashy…if only they went all the way around!

Cute
Nice hunter pleasure prospect.

A little bum-high, maybe...
Standing nice and square.

"Is this my good side, Mom?"
“Is this my good side, Mom?”

Canter
Cantering

Glam.
SUCH a sweet little boy.
